The Kay Broderius “Hand Up" Award is given to an individual in recognition of their outstanding service to the community.

Julie Matt was awarded the 2019 Kay Broderius Hand Up Award at the 2019 Circle of Sister’s Luncheon.

Julie exemplifies all the qualities that we strive for in W2W.  Her deep commitment to helping others has enabled W2W to give help and support to women in crisis in Weld County.

Julie came on the Board of Directors in 2015 and immediately stepped in to work on the Program Committee.  Julie left the board last November.  During her tenure she helped process over 300 applications.  Her calm and unassuming demeanor helped her to provide excellent service to our partnering agencies and was an outstanding mentor to new Board members.  If there was a problem she stepped up willingly to help resolve the problem.  As a result of that willingness she took on the task of developing the procedural manual and presenting it to the area agencies.

Julie retired from the District Court where she served as a court reporter/stenographer.  She is an accomplished knitter and seamstress.  She has 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren.

Congratulations Julie!!!
